As soon as I laid her on it, she was instantly more engaged and curious. The square style is large and straightforward and the mat is the thickness that I had desired. Once I figured out a way to wrap up and pack the playmat it worked awesome on our Thanksgiving trip to occupy baby with lots of fun and no screens or flashing lights! The clips are durable plastic and none of the stitching seems like it will rip anytime soon.
